Now, I have heard of a lot of fad diets in my day, and a few months ago I came across the banana weight loss diet. I have to say, I wondered how can eating bananas all day help you lose weight? Aren’t bananas fattening?
Banana Weight Loss Diet
First and foremost, I need to set the record straight regarding bananas being a fattening food. The reason people say this is because bananas have a relatively large amount of carbs. Now, traditional fat loss methods say that carbohydrates are bad for you, but with the banana diet for weight loss this is just not so.
The reason the banana weight loss diet works is actually very simple:
If you eat 2 bananas before each meal (which is only around 180-200 calories) then you will not be hungry and thus will not have the desire to consume a 1,000 calorie meal. while the name banana diet or morning banana diet may sound a bit quirky, there is actually some pretty solid logic behind this philosophy.
I must say that I have not personally tried the banana weight loss diet, but my sister Teresa did and she said that she was able to lose about 2 pounds per week, and that the diet seemed to stop working once she had lost about 12 pounds.
So, while the banana weight loss diet may have some merit, it seems that you can plateau rather easily and thus can only lose a certain amount of weight. My advice is that if you only need to lose 5-10 pounds, then this diet may work for you. However, if you are looking to lose 15 or more pounds (which 70% of the population needs to do) then this is not your answer. if you are trying to lose a dress size or drop 5 pounds quickly give it a try, but don’t rely on it for long term results.
I was able to lose 60 pounds in just a few short months and did not even use to banana weight loss diet plan. do you want to see how I did it?
